We have 622 sqm. At first, I thought that bigger is always better, but now I think that a few sqm less would have done as well. Around 500 - 550 would have been enough.

With our neighbor opposite and the ones to the right side, I see that they have built very large and thus almost no space remains for the garden. That would have been too small for me personally.

The question you should ask yourself is whether you want to do a lot in the garden, or if a large terrace is enough for you. My parents have a plot of about 400 sqm, plus it is a corner plot, so the garden runs as a narrow strip around the house. They have now built a very large terrace (45 sqm) and are satisfied with it.

Thank you for your answers. So, we have recorded and measured it and have come to the conclusion that just under 430m² is enough for us. In the meantime, I have also received the cross-section from the city, where you can see the property and the height differences. We have now reached the point where we say we would like houses from the lower row. On the cross-section image, that is on the left, towards the forest. Advantage: no direct neighbor on the "forest side" and still a very good view into the valley. At the moment the forest has some damage to the trees, so you can see through very well. However, shading is warned against. It is however the case that the lowest row of properties does not run at an even height. That means: the properties on the right and left are somewhat higher than the middle ones, which lie in a hollow. Simply put: all the plots in the lower row are side by side, but there are height differences from right to left. The middle plots lie in a hollow. That means for us: we would prefer the outer, somewhat higher plots, because there the chance of seeing over the forest (after it has regrown) is higher. Any objections to this? :-) Attached is also the cross-section image... Feedback is welcome :)

Question: what speaks against plot 24 - it is the entrance plot at the beginning of the street. Apart from the snow clearing obligation? No neighbors on the right and in front towards the forest are advantages for me. Disadvantage: retention basin in close proximity, close to the forest (possibly shading in winter). Road noise should not be much of an issue, with almost 35 plots in this area. Can you think of anything else? :)
