It can also be assumed that the purchase price is the "I get out of this with a black eye" price. Assuming some urgency: there's still quite a bit to be negotiated on the price. Just because of the risks that something has been standing in water for years and the additional costs to assess the condition, possibly missing warranty, extra efforts to continue started work (first finding someone) ... some discount will surely be appropriate.
