We are getting a copy from the local locksmith. It costs over 3k and the panes are only visibly glued on one side. The rest is welded and powder-coated steel profile.
I can highly recommend the company Bichler Türenwerk in Berg im Gau. A carpenter specializing in high-quality doors. Our pivot door is made of wood, coated in black - therefore much lighter than metal in handling. Visually hardly any difference - everyone is amazed that the base material is really wood. In the picture, not everything is finished yet, as unfortunately the plastering work was not done cleanly. The door is freely swinging on both sides.
Was the door cheaper because the frame is made of wood?
It was actually cheaper than a steel door we inquired about, I don't know why - we would have liked it much better anyway. However, I don't think these doors are ever "cheap" ;) For our size of 200x287 though, it’s reasonable, especially when I look at other prices. If you’re in the area, I can only recommend seeing the doors on site – there’s a great showroom.
Ah, that is a great tip! You can usually combine the hour-long drive with a nice little trip. Luckily, the one door we have in mind isn't urgent and only needs to come once the house is completely finished. I'll definitely make a note of the company with the showroom.

Exactly! From my own experience, I can only advise to get informed early on such topics. Usually, you have to consider something already during the construction/completion to ensure the execution runs smoothly... we have learned to always think one step ahead. And the waiting times are extremely long ;)
