Hi, I have to agree with you on that. Yes, I am a computer scientist and had hoped my craftsman friend would pay attention to the issue of frost protection, but you can see what happened. I really don't feel like fiddling with a heater or insulation under the stairs. I'd rather have a new staircase and fill it in properly. Now I have to convince the rest of the family, no one is a craftsman.

Good decision. So you have work now, but then peace and good nights.

Happy New Year everyone,

Now the conclusion of this forum, so that future users who face a similar challenge can read here what we did and why.
Conclusion:
The earth mass around the cables was increased. Period.
The wall was moved by 20 cm.
Problem staircase, 3 steps, was dug up and buried.
New staircase built.
And now I can sleep peacefully and not worry about the cables.
And yes, it cost me 400 euros more, but the cable would have burst at some point in the next 15 years, so the conversion was the lesser evil. Photo follows for comparison. Thank you all
