and some others find both cool and can afford it

that's also great
whether women, heat pumps, photovoltaics, biomass, or the super kitchen
everyone can choose what suits them

Mmmh, I’m just a woman. Then the money is gone. [emoji56]

that / those do not necessarily have to be bad even with a tight budget

Unfortunately, solar thermal is sold by the developer at a price and technically poorly implemented... You notice this when appropriate protective measures do not work if there is too much hot water in summer, or the circulation is so poor that the pipes are stressed to the limit... In the end, the system breaks down after a few years (it barely survives the warranty). Then it’s a money pit.

I will simply assume now that there is no heating load calculation either, as the heating system (gas/oil) is massively oversized. The statement on this: we always install it...

P.S. A domestic hot water heat pump also works without photovoltaics. Photovoltaics just make even more sense in this case. By the way, photovoltaics pays for itself. With solar thermal, I save a bit of hot water costs for the regular heating. With photovoltaics, I save electricity and even get money for the surplus... But: it comes with a bit of paperwork (tax office/distribution system operator...)

I am interested in the costs for solar thermal energy.

A domestic hot water heat pump can be obtained - without installation - and with an integrated 300-liter storage tank for around €1,500-2,500. (Stiebel Eltron/Weishaupt/Feinwerk/novelan/Viessmann....), installation effort with transport not half a day with 2 workers

I will now simply assume that the builder charges almost €1,000 just for the 280-300 liter hot water storage tank. The solar thermal modules €3,000, installation effort certainly 1-2 days, with 2 workers

I only know what the plumber received for our entire house. 17 thousand gross. He delivered that, Junkers gas boiler, underfloor heating for 108 sqm living space, solar for hot water with storage tank, bathroom, two sinks, two toilets, all Duravit with Grohe fittings, shower set as well, Helios exhaust fan moisture-controlled, electric towel radiator, two external taps, utility sink, washing machine connection angle valve, for dishwasher, kitchen connections.
So, the solar stuff can't be that expensive.
