Problems with subcontractor's invoice

I need some input, maybe someone has been in a similar dilemma.

I built a house with General Contractor A,

General Contractor A hired Subcontractor B for the electrical work.

Before completion of all final electrical work but after the handover of the house, General Contractor A became insolvent.

Subcontractor B has completed the work but has now sent an invoice for work that was allegedly not commissioned by him.

However, this work was contractually agreed with General Contractor A.

Subcontractor B has been fully paid.

What should I do now, pay the invoice or not?

Please kindly ask the Sub to provide you with the order from you that he refers to. That with your signature and the offer from the Sub.

Did you pay him in full? Or the general contractor?

Did you pay it in full? Or the GU?

The GU paid it in full:

The SU says that was not part of his contract with the GU

The GC has paid him in full: The subcontractor says that was not part of his contract with the GC

None of that is your problem. If there is no contract between you and the subcontractor or a signature from you to the GC with an assignment effect for the offsetting of additional services, you owe the subcontractor nothing.

Then you can ignore the invoice from the subcontractor. The subcontractor can contact the GC.
