Hello,

we plan to build next year and already have a plot of land.

We have already drawn our floor plan ourselves (basement, ground floor, 1st floor, garage, terrace, etc.). We have also decided on window and door measurements and drawn the exterior view.

We would like to go to an architect next week so that they can implement our plan.

Which things should be decided by then? What questions will come up for us?
- Heating?
- Where to place sockets / light switches?

Thank you very much

Leave the plan at home and write down the room program. A professional is better than a layman, and you show respect to a trained professional by trusting that he will get the best out of your property.

Or do you mean you know the common sizes of masons, bricks, and DIN?

None. You are talking about the first introductory meeting with a professional who will probably accompany you for two years of your life.

I hope you interpret the written word correctly as well. If you inquire with a shell builder in January, he will allocate capacities for 2020 and not earlier. That means you will definitely not start in 2019. I made an inquiry last year in September with finished plans and it only started two weeks ago.

1. We already have a shell construction company (relatives)

2. We designed the plan the way we imagine it, over a longer period of time (drawn again and again). We will not have a new plan drawn.

Since he is a distant acquaintance, he will charge by the hour, and the better prepared we are, the easier it will be for everyone.

Afterwards, we will assign everything ourselves or mostly do it ourselves.

daring project... If you think it's important to decide where the light switches go during the first architect meeting, you probably don’t have a deep understanding of the subject. I would like to see the plan - then we could say whether you can just go to the architect with it or if you should rather follow ypg’s advice. (no offense)

Well then, I am curious how he will find your plan! Has he already seen the draft?
We have often seen approved-ready plans here that were mostly just crap.
