Hello,
the biggest challenge in our floor plan design at the moment is the living room. It is located in the southwest and I want to fit in a corner sofa, fireplace, and TV there. The corner sofa should preferably face the open space and not act as a room divider (only if there is no other option or if you have good ideas). The two smaller windows on the south and west can be positioned freely, either as corner windows or separately.
Now to my options:
1) Sofa in the southwest corner:
Here I would be sitting with my back to the window and would have no good view of the garden (south), and the TV would be directly opposite the window (reflection?). However, the fireplace is between the living and dining room (it should also be visible from the dining table) and is also clearly visible from the sofa.
2) Sofa in the northwest corner:
Here you look diagonally through the window into the garden and there are no reflections on the TV. However, the fireplace is only visible from the long side of the sofa if looking to the left.
What do you think is best or do you have other ideas on how to arrange everything differently? The fireplace must definitely be on the long wall of the north side. The TV should not be on the west wall; it does not have to be directly visible from the dining room.
I look forward to your suggestions.
