Hello,

regarding this last remaining / open question (which exterior wall) I have registered here in this forum and have already read various answers. Unfortunately without success as mostly other or even all stones were compared with each other.

Our / My problem is that we will be building next year. The general contractor has already been selected (it was also a long comparison and contract study period) but I simply do not know which stone - as exterior wall - I should choose.

Planned is a gable roof house with a basement (140 sqm living space) in a quiet corner (regarding sound insulation). Controlled residential ventilation is not planned. I think it is possible without and regarding the exterior wall we have also excluded calcium silicate brick + ETICS.

However, the only remaining point is: which stone should it be?

    [*
      - Porous brick (Lambda 0.09) or
[*]- Meier M10 insulation block (Lambda 0.10 and €3600 more expensive compared to the porous brick)
      [LIST]
[*]The Meier M10 insulation block is a solid block made of lightweight concrete based on high-quality washed pumice and expanded clay Liapor

Do professionals (I am really not at all an expert) have a recommendation regarding the mentioned facts?
That there is no one single stone or standard solution for this is clear.
But unfortunately I have no tendency as to which way it should go and so far for me it could also be decided by a coin toss.

About me, to introduce myself briefly. I am 31 years old, married and have 2 children. A daughter (3 years) and a son (3 months).

Thank you very much in advance for your efforts.

Best regards
Chris Braun

From my point of view, the disadvantage of the porous brick is that the sound insulation is not so good. Now, that is not supposed to be so important for you because you live in a quiet corner. Which stone will you use for the interior walls then?

It is also not easy to fix anything in porous stones. The filled ones are better for that.

What about sand-lime brick and facing bricks?

Hello, thank you very much for the quick response. The interior walls will be limestone walls. It is good to know about the fastening. Unfortunately, I am currently googling what KS and Verblender mean, does that mean it has not come up before because it was not the focus / I did not know. The following types of exterior walls were always discussed with -actually all general contractors / subcontractors-: - KS + WDVS - insulation block - aerated brick All other stones / types were not considered or mentioned in the discussion. Since we are not experts, our mental bridges in discussions with a developer were always colleagues or friends who had recently built, and only the above-mentioned stones were used there. Thank you very much
