Hello,
We have built a 50m2 small garden house. On the ground floor, there is an open living space with kitchen, dining, and living areas. Only the WC is separated. Upstairs, there is also an open living area with a separated bathroom. We actually want the same tiles on the ground floor and upstairs. Who else has an open living area here? According to which criteria did you choose the tiles? I find it so difficult because different requirements are placed on kitchen, living, or bathroom tiles. Which surface? Natural or lappato surface? Which color? Gray or beige?
Does anyone here consider how a tile feels/tactile sensation important?
How - with which tiles - did you solve the problem? Please feel free to include pictures.

We have everything open and the same tiles everywhere.

What different requirements do you have for 25/50sqm?

According to our taste and style.

Oops, is there only such?

Haptics is always important, I think.

See above. Because it is personal taste, there is no photo from me here.

The colors gray and beige because we do not want to commit ourselves regarding furnishing yet and want it neutral. The kitchen will be shell white, so a soft shade. Colors will come with accessories. I don’t know if lappato surface – a mix of smooth/natural – or naturale, i.e. completely matte. I have already had the pattern perfect but didn’t like how the tile feels and vice versa….. Is that normal?

A little tip: If you don’t want to mop daily, don’t buy anything light-colored with a very subtle pattern. We made that mistake, and you can really see every crumb or stain. Either something darker or light, but with an intense pattern. If you mop every day anyway, it’s probably no problem.

And nothing with just a little pattern. Otherwise, you scrub "stains" that are actually part of the design.

negative selection, take any 3 of the 20 different tiles and compare, then remove the worst. Add a new one and compare again, then remove the worst, ..., the last one is your favorite
