Hello

for some minor defects in our house construction, we received pleated blinds from the construction company, which they delivered to us through their subcontractor for windows.

the window installer simply took the construction measurements he recorded on site during the creation of the windows. unfortunately, this did not work out, the pleated blinds are all (4 pieces) each 3-4mm too wide. as a result, the pleated blinds no longer sit in the frame in front of the glass but rather in front of the windows. when you open the windows (all 4 are floor-to-ceiling patio windows), the pleated blind almost hits the wall (only the baseboard prevents it as a stopper).

today I saw the window installer passing by, so I called him over. he looked at it and said that it was normal. on the internet it always says that you should measure explicitly and precisely, and every millimeter counts.

what do you think, is this normal? see pictures in the attachment. (detailed pictures right/left without the pleated blind being moved)

the pleated blinds cost around €800 in total (which the construction company is paying).

Hello, we have several pleated blinds that are partly already about 10 years old, but they all fit exactly in the glass rebate, i.e. directly in front of the pane. They have to be about 1-2 mm narrower, otherwise they won't fit in the gap. With you, it doesn't look right...

Aldi and Lidl also have pleated blinds next week. Here the pleated blinds extend significantly beyond the glass. So they basically lie on the frame, not on the glass. But of course, these are also inexpensive pleated blinds. I had considered buying some and had therefore already dealt with size and installation.

How do you attach the pleated blind?

Clip strips in the frame? Is the window still sealed then?

Drilling? and that with new windows

Does gluing hold?
