Speaking of windows.... on the ground floor, some of our windows and/or parts of them have already been installed today. Meranti wooden windows!

With high-quality oil (Osmo), it lasts 10 years... I can say this from my own experience

In my old apartment, all were replaced after 20 years because the hinge broke out of the frame on one window after it was opened (if that had happened to my wife, she probably would have been underneath it, I was lucky that the window slammed onto the windowsill and I then pushed it back up... a sash about 120 cm wide/high with glass does have a nice weight when it unexpectedly comes towards you). After inspecting the other windows, they were all replaced because in two others the plastic holding the hinge was brittle.

How does the problem with warping and colored windows actually behave? Especially considering the materials. It is repeatedly said that foil-covered, colored plastic windows warp in heat. How is this with wood-aluminum or aluminum cover shells?

According to our window installer, that is not a problem. Your plastic windows usually also have a frame made of a different material on the inside.
