Plastic windows vs. wooden windows

The question is whether the glasses will really get any thicker – you still have to be able to look out, and you already get problems with light incidence to some extent with triple glazing.

Well, in the end, it's a matter of taste and above all money.

Whereas the plastic wing is probably at the end of its lifespan anyway...

That is not necessarily the case. In my parents' house, there are plastic windows over 30 years old that still look like they did on the first day. I know enough wooden windows that have not lasted that long. I consider it quite daring to attribute a longer durability to any material as a given.

Our windows ultimately received an aluminum cladding. It looks very high-quality, is relatively resistant to scratches, and matches perfectly with the garage door and the front door. It just cost a bit extra.

A house already requires enough work as it is, so you don't necessarily have to tie yourself to annual window painting. Most people seem to think the same way; when I see wooden windows somewhere, they are usually in old houses where nothing has ever been done to the windows – accordingly, they look shabby. My parents installed plastic windows 35 years ago, and they still look good without any effort over all that time. But sure, if you like it and are willing to pay more for the extra work...

Well, wooden windows are usually painted every 10 years...

But not if, as mentioned "above," they are treated exclusively with oils. Then you are more likely to be on the outside annually, rather than every 10 years...
