Hello everyone,

we plan to build a terraced house. We have already purchased the plot of land.
How do we proceed now? What do I need for this, in order?
For example, architect, structural engineering, etc.
What should we start with, or rather, what do we have to start with?
Is it better if I take everything in one, e.g. the architect, structural engineer, construction management.

Thank you in advance
best regards

Hello,

I would say first get informed/read up.
Decide whether with a general contractor/general planner or an architect. Then you go to them and have something planned. They will then initiate the necessary steps regarding structural engineering etc.

As I already said, first read up smartly.
GU is general contractor/assumer, often confused with property developer.
Just read up on it. It's a decision for life, you don't understand everything in a few days.
I have been reading up and working on the construction for 1.5 years and still keep learning new things, or rather, there are always new questions.

I don't quite understand how you could buy an undeveloped plot for a terraced house. The entire terraced house (the whole row) is usually built by the same developer(?) and you can discuss the floor plan and fittings with them. I can't imagine it any other way with a terraced house.

hello meecrob,

there have already been 3 houses there since 1997 and mine is a building gap. The owner of the plot did not want to build back then because he was allocated the plot as he gave up space from his other property. I bought this plot privately and the location is also wonderful. Neighbors are also ok.
