Variant 2 (I am a garden enthusiast) - but where is north?

North is up.
The street side is therefore south.

The passage between the house and garage in variant 1 would be 1m.
Not exactly spacious but enough to push a bicycle or wheelbarrow through.

That’s true, but it’s a 1m wide, 2.5m high, and 3m long passage, or should we rather call it an "alley" or "gorge"? I don’t think it looks appealing at all, and the entrance area is supposed to look inviting. The only way I think to "save" that would be an open carport facing the garden with a walkway next to the parking space. Or you just build the garage directly up to the house. But then you have no passage (and even if the garage has a side door, you don’t want to send guests for the barbecue through there). Plan 2, with a nicely designed forecourt, would really make a difference: gravel or natural stone paving for the cars, slabs for the pedestrians, and if you’re into kitsch, a wall with an arched gate between the garage and the house. Some border planting around the outside. Definitely no corrugated iron garage doors and the garage adapted to the house.

Hello!

We had a similar problem and aligned the garage and the house on the 'lower' side.

The driveway is now 13 m long, behind the garage there is space for the heat pump, compost, trash bins, etc.

There is a 1.5 m gap between the garage and the house. Since the shell is up, I can say that this seems really sufficient to me.

Best regards, torsan

I am for option 1 - what use is the best plot if it pinches in the front
Short but comfortable courtyard area, space for compost and wheelbarrow

If north is at the top, I would probably place the house further towards the north. However, I do not know the neighboring buildings. We did not want a passage between the garage and the house. We consciously decided against it.
