Grandchild maybe later, but there will surely be possibilities then
First, the base needs to be done and we probably got too fixated on that because I planned the garden very early on.
That's why I'm asking here in the forum. We are open to everything
We are only not allowed to plant evergreen cemetery hedges, otherwise we are free.
I will soon draw in a southwest terrace, even though the direct path from the stove/fridge to the table and grill is in the south or east.
Here is the current plan:

Maybe move the left part of the terrace to the right?... the two grey rectangles are loungers, and then let them grow in a bit with vegetation there (privacy screen)? Then you have the relaxation area in the southwest, the dining area in the south, and in the east a small table among herbs for breakfast...

Hi,

I wouldn't place the kitchen garden directly next to the (main) terrace but further away. How many square meters have you planned for it now? Is it even "worth it" with the keyword "potatoes"? You need quite a few square meters for the potatoes to be enough for more than one meal.

Otherwise, I quite like your plan.

Best regards

Michael

We don’t want to toil now, I have to read up on potatoes, I was thinking about two sqm ?!
Otherwise, what is easy and fun: quince, apple, and red/blueberry, otherwise potato, carrot, radish, tomato, radish, zucchini, and pumpkin. Experiments, of course. I’ve never had a south-facing terrace, so I’m curious how eggplant and pepper will do.

Thanks, but you’re right: I’m planning to put the vegetables more towards the end of the garden in the south. The lounge chairs facing southwest in front of the house. Then there would be a loosening up in the southeast in front of the house, i.e., between the terrace and the vegetables.

The question now is: square or round layout

I am definitely a fan of Eckig! Looking forward to your new drawing.

No idea how many potatoes you can harvest on average from 2 sqm. We used to have always more, significantly more

I am also a fan of corners, but in the garden, curves are more flattering.

I have now changed the vegetable bed and terrace.
South: vegetables and fruits. East: lavender and roses. Lounging area between bamboo and grasses...
somehow everything looks so messy
