Dear TE, when you quote, you will see an editable post. You can write in it, but please not in the quote line ;)
[quote... ... quote]

.. what is this plain quote supposed to tell us now?

If you just want to respond to someone, the easiest way is to write the @ sign followed by the username. Then that person receives a notification that a reply has been made and recognizes where they are being addressed. And usually, that person knows what they wrote 1 or 2 posts before ;).

My parents are 65 and very fit. I think it is reasonable that they can still climb stairs well. The [Eltern Schlafzimmer] has already been reduced to the minimum.

At some point, every step becomes difficult to walk, sometimes it is no longer possible at all, even though the rest is still relatively fit. There is a wide range between fit and nursing home.
Step-free, barrier-free, walker-friendly rooms with enough space in front of the toilet, 1.8 m wide double bed (a slatted frame similar to those used in hospital beds fits)
Access without steps or dimensions and electricity for a platform lift must be provided.
Planning can start now.

The thing with the electricity for a possible elevator is a good idea. As I said, my parents are very fit and if in 10-20 years it becomes difficult, then the rooms or places might possibly change again.
