PS: Another option for the lawnmower would be an electric robotic mower. It parks anyway at its charging station outdoors and "calls for help" if someone carries it off the property. However, these devices are not exactly cheap...

He has his own opening. There is NO flap or anything like that in front of it yet. I am still thinking about what to do. Currently planning a small electric roller shutter.

OK, sounds interesting - do you want to connect this roller shutter to the control of the lawn mower robot somehow, or simply open and close it via a timer?

I would prefer to do this via the control of the robotic mower. However, I have only just received access to the corresponding system settings from the manufacturer, and it looks like this will only be possible with tinkering. Unless I can manage something via the Bluetooth interface. I need to look into that once I have finished with my garden and the remaining things in the house so that I have more time for such tinkering again. The easiest way will probably be to control the whole thing using light barriers.
