I would like the memory to modulate its outputs transparently onto the main line until it runs low and then a smooth transition to the main supply takes place. I don't quite understand the question. That's what every typical photovoltaic storage system does. As soon as the photovoltaic power is no longer sufficient to supply the household consumption, the storage takes over seamlessly until it is empty. And when it is empty, power is drawn from the grid again. The devices don't notice anything at all.
