Photovoltaic system, how to use experiences like heat pumps?

But yes - it’s a gadget. We men need such toys. With an app. With graphics. The more details, the better.

My wife, however, has little understanding for my impulses that soon we will rather do laundry and run the dishwasher when the sun is shining... the subject of self-consumption rate has not yet reached level 10 of enthusiasm with her and leads to shaking heads and doubts about my condition. It will come. Surely. The enthusiasm.

Until then, I will connect smart plugs with energy management. Then the washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher simply won’t turn on if the sun isn’t shining enough. Probably the recipe to increase acceptance. I will report. It will be magnificent.

When I read all this, I really get excited about our house. Let's see how strong my girlfriend's nerves will be then.

It's time for an interim balance...

A few technical data:
18x 300W Winaico (5.4 kWp) on a Fronius Symo 5.0.3.M

Installation on 7.2.2016, meaning about 6 months and 3 weeks in operation.

Of 3835 kWh produced, we were able to use 36% ourselves, unfortunately we had to feed the rest in at 12.31 ct.

That means: 303 euros feed-in tariff, minus 60 euros VAT on self-consumption and 120 euros insurance. I deliberately leave taxes out. Here I calculate with a neutral position after depreciation of the system and expenses.

But I actually saved 375 euros that the supplier didn't have to deliver to me.

So 303-60-120+375 = 498 euros saved. On the other hand, the system costs me 864 euros per year. In the end, I pay 30 euros a month for the first 10 years, which is worth it to me.

I find the self-consumption rate of 36% and the autarky rate of 50% without storage quite respectable. Someone has to match that first, but I have also had a 25m³ pool for 2 months that helps me with that, which can also be seen in the consumption.

Do you pay 27 cents per kWh for the electricity consumed?

How are the costs of €864 composed?
Depreciation over 10 years + interest + X?

Your autonomy and self-consumption rates are probably not representative, as no winter months are considered

First of all, congratulations on your values. It should be taken into account that summer this year was rather sh... in the first few months. In the monthly comparison, from March to August this year, we fed in less each month than last year. Presumably, our own consumption has not increased, as we already achieved an exceptionally good result in the first year. You also run your heat pump (heating + water) via the photovoltaic system – of course, you thereby achieve even higher self-sufficiency.

However, I have to agree with . You only get a meaningful overview after completing the entire year. The bad times are yet to come. Your self-consumption rate (consumption from total production) will increase – your feed-in will decrease and external electricity purchase will increase. But I’m not telling you anything new there – you’ve dealt with it long enough.

Above all, the pool is quite a thing - a small power hog that makes the result look better. Without such a consumer, it looks different again.

But I will somehow still implement it... no matter whether it is economical or not...
