Perimeter insulation/clinker façade; which systems to combine?

Hello,

are there systems where I can combine perimeter insulation with a clinker facade? My construction company says that the clinker can only be placed on the strip foundation. Insulation is planned under the floor slab and on the outside of the strip foundation. Unfortunately, with this construction, no insulation can be installed under the strip foundation. Do you have any idea how to combine clinker and continuous perimeter insulation?

Thank you and happy Easter

Hello, This is about thermal bridges. I assume new construction. For this, according to DIN 4108 Bbl. 2, and considering the usual flat surcharge of 5%, these are to be executed accordingly or, in case of deviations, an equivalence proof must be provided. Whether a horizontal insulation below the BPL makes sense must be determined by the planner based on the HGW. In case of expected moisture, this construction would likely make little sense. Best regards

Hello,

of course this is a thermal bridge and should be included in the calculations. We are still in the planning phase and definitely want a clinker brick house. My question was, is there a solution on how to combine a continuous perimeter insulation with a clinker brick façade?

Why should moisture ruin this construction? Perimeter insulation (Styrodur) is resistant to moisture after all!

Best regards.

Hello,

I would prefer cross-sectional drawings of the structure of the perimeter insulation with brick facade. For me, perimeter insulation is a full-surface insulation under the floor slab. According to my planner, this is not possible as the bricks cannot/should not lie on the insulation. Does anyone have cross-sectional drawings where you can see the structure?

Thanks, Fabian
