We ordered our kitchen at a fixed price from our regional kitchen studio in November 2021. We were specifically advised to do so, even though we had not yet started building the house. The prices were predicted to rise sharply, we were told by the kitchen studio. That is why we agreed on a fixed price; all possible price increases from the manufacturer’s side, etc., were excluded. Now, last week, our kitchen was finally installed in our new house, unfortunately with several defects, but that is another matter. Suddenly, an additional charge of 600 euros has appeared.... called an energy surcharge. Would you pay that despite the fixed price?

No. You have ruled out price increases, so that is not your problem.

Hi,

There you have answered your question yourself. Fixed price is fixed price. Period.

Best regards,
Andreas

Exactly. I would have stomach aches if you didn't have the kitchen yet. But it's there. A contract is a contract. I would definitely not agree to just one extra euro more.

Our kitchen studio came a total of 5 times because appliances were delivered separately. We did not have to pay a single cent extra.

If the contract does not say anything about it and a fixed price was agreed upon, I would not pay anything either.

That is entrepreneurial risk! After all, you also ordered in advance
