Patterned porcelain stoneware tiles prone to chipping?

Hello,

we are currently choosing tiles for the kitchen. We like porcelain stoneware tiles with baked-in patterns. Are these tiles suitable for the kitchen where a knife or a fork might occasionally fall? Do chips appear immediately?
Do the patterns wear off over time?

Without having googled this tile: every tile has information about abrasion classes and room recommendations. What does it say there?

Abrasion class 3 ... would therefore not be ideal for the kitchen, right? Even if the floor is rarely walked on with street shoes there?

We tested our choice tile. You do get a sample, lay it down, get a knife, drop it from above, and see what happens. It passed the test for us.
