I have been here for a while now, but I can't remember anyone in this forum having implemented a passive house. It has been planned by someone here and there, but I don't know if they were actually executed. Therefore, it is naturally also difficult to get tips regarding heating/domestic hot water here. I think you are better off in the forum mentioned by Bieber0815.

If your employer manufactures wooden houses, can't you get some experience reports there?

Regarding wooden houses themselves, the user comes to mind.

Didn't also build a wooden house?

Edit: he ultimately built a Kfw55 house!

Hello everyone,

I would like to give a status update.

We found and bought a building gap in a very quiet street by chance and luck.

The 719m2 and all incidental purchase costs were paid from our own funds.

My employer has started the planning including statics and thermal insulation certificate.

The building application will be submitted in about 4 weeks.

A few small things have been changed, we are getting a flat roof with a raised parapet. The concrete core activation will also be omitted; it will be a highly insulated floor slab without underfloor heating.

Aluminum windows (RC2) and doors (RC3) from Sch..o in the passive house version, which is my specialty.

The interior doors also come from the same manufacturer and will be 3m high including transom. Glazed with 42dB glass and frosted film for the bathroom and bedrooms.

Then we will get quotes for electrical, sanitary, and heat pump and award the contracts.

Regards Steffi, Lisa and me...

Passive house is probably not financially worthwhile, but KfW55 was easily achievable for us.

...since we are building with timber frame construction anyway, the step to a passive house-compatible wall is not far and expensive.

But building passive and thus sustainable must be done out of conviction, writes someone who has been cycling to work for about 20 years with annual distances between 10-16 thousand km.

At the moment, it's 21 km one way in wind and weather and also through winter.

When I compare our house construction costs with those who build conventionally and indulge in many, sometimes unnecessary extras (fully networked house), we are well in the race.

And our windows and doors open and close without a tablet and electricity.

Regards, Matthias

I am curious, so I would be very interested to know what your house construction costs look like. ;)
