If inconsistencies and waste of square meters are not addressed in any way.
This storage corner costs more square meters than can be used. The adjacent toilet on display also consumes more than a toilet fundamentally needs.

Well then.

You are funny. You have already helped me a lot with all 3 threads, even if it might not seem that way. The perspective on some things and little details that I don’t see myself or see incorrectly. That makes me ponder in my head, and I plan this or that differently.

Other things, on the other hand, I ignore inconspicuously, for example the kitchen island. Of course, I am aware that it takes up space. But at the moment, I don’t value a lot of free space in the kitchen. Instead, I value a kitchen island. Maybe I won’t like it anymore someday, then it will just go away again.

Today we went to the model home center again and got lots of inspiration.

Well, that's also an atypical kitchen island; without any installations, it can be easily taken down again. Actually, it's more like a large fixed chopping block.

Hopefully also about how you can overcome the break between (except for the chopping block) appropriate scale on the ground floor and the small-scale nature on the upper floor (we still don't know the basement).

But: what did you want there? — after deciding on the provider and base model (or here one almost has to say soon: starting model) that makes little sense.

Hey, we just wanted to get a feel for the rooms. What it feels like to stand in a 13-14 sqm children's room, etc. Then we specifically looked at the bathrooms and thought about how they could be rearranged. And also how to visually hide the toilet in the bathroom. Unfortunately, model homes are somehow not very functional. In some bathrooms, it would be impossible to shower without flooding half the house, but they looked good. We also looked again at the trend (every model home without exception had it) of the open kitchen and thought about it, but we can't come to terms with it. Same with so many oversized windows. Looks nice in a model home like that, but feeling comfortable in your own home is somehow different. I would probably start crawling on the floor in such a glass house at some point HAHA. But it was still helpful to see how many windows give how much light. And we looked at dressing rooms. How much space you roughly need, how it feels to move around there, etc.

It was quite exciting once you start paying attention to certain things.

I don't know which one you were in, but for us near Cologne, almost all are floor plans from the current programs of the manufacturers. The only limitation; mostly they are the slightly larger floor plan variants of the respective model.

But the windows also usually correspond to those underlying the floor plan.

Or for example the question why you don't build a bigger house. I have already explained that the floor area ratio allows that. And that the house cannot be rotated parallel to the street because of the fixed ridge direction, I can hardly believe. Especially since exemptions have been granted for other, much more decisive stipulations.
