Yes, that's the question. I know so little about it that I can't even say what I like, since I have no idea what's out there. I'll have to get some information on that.

Thanks for the info. I completely lack ideas about what even exists. You can stick woodchip directly on Q2. I know that by now. That would probably be the cheapest solution. For smooth wallpapers or paints without wallpaper, you need Q4? And what do you use Q3 for? If you put a grainy plaster on it that you might not even have to paint?

What in your opinion is a good and cheaper alternative to Q4? Q2 is only for textured wallpaper. So Q3 and then top coat?

If I don't want a completely smooth wall at all but rather Raufaser or textured coarse-grained plaster, then I don't need a Q4 skimming at all?

Our cats have scratched the textured wallpaper with great enthusiasm until it was completely gone.

Our cats are currently doing that in two spots as well. But that can be easily repaired. That certainly wouldn't be the case with smooth wallpaper. That's why we're looking for an alternative on the ground floor. Definitely no woodchip wallpaper but also no smooth non-woven wallpaper. But ideally, I would prefer some kind of plaster. That is surely more durable.
