No. Why? All the products listed are regularly applied to walls by genuine painting companies. By the way, all of the above are from the same paint manufacturer to get a wall white, just from different price/quality segments.

A painter can certainly influence his offer if he opts for the cheaper bucket.

It can also be, for example, the store brand of his wholesaler for 25€ per bucket. If he knows that his brush can get the walls white with it. These are also loaded pallet-wise into painters' vehicles.

I just want to say that it is difficult to judge from a distance whether 3.8 is a good price. And also comparing with alternative painters is not without challenges if you only look at the final price.

Since it is hardly about saving 50€ per bucket, leave it at 3.8 and round up to 4 if you are satisfied with his work :P

Best regards in short

I don't understand. doesn't want to paint student rooms, but his entire bungalow (just referring to the interior work for now).

Roughly estimated, 110 sqm living area is about 550 sqm of walls and ceiling surfaces. That makes around 92 liters of paint. So that's 7-8 buckets of 12.5 liters of paint.

And already it makes a difference whether paint costs 200€, or 480€, or 630€ (Indeko plus), or the very expensive one for 984€ in the offer.

It's not like a painter doesn't need materials...

That has nothing to do with whether it is a "proper company" or not. It depends on which paint he priced in for you or whether you even set quality standards. After all, he could also use €5 paint from Poco to increase the profit margin.

I think I once read that the material costs for painters are about 40%. As others have already mentioned, you should maybe clarify with your painter which paint he uses and get a comparative offer from another one. You don’t have to tell your painter that you definitely want to hire him. If the competitor is cheaper (with comparable paint quality!), you can still go to your preferred craftsman and negotiate a discount...
