The existing doors are in very good condition (so no damage etc). So you recommend lacquer paint? Favorite?

There are many good paints. But please no [Baumarkteigenmarken], the cheaper the paint, the worse the binders and pigments are.

We obtained our paints from misspompadour. We liked the quality of those from Mylands the best. The paints are really easy to work with, not comparable to a wall paint like Alpinaweiß. But in general, all the brands offered there are pretty good.

We did not sand or putty our door frames. Although puttying might be necessary depending on the condition.
The stain block is a sealing layer so that the wood does not "bleed through." This mainly leads to unsightly yellowish spots with white paints.
We kept an interior door and painted it white. A total of 3 white transitions were needed until I liked it.

Don't they also have the Eggshell for kitchens and such?

And have you already had experience with normal "varnishes"? As I said before: When I renovated, it wasn't even talked about, no one knew about it. I would claim that it didn't even exist ;) And with the furniture now, I wasn't satisfied, yes, as mentioned above, somehow caked on.

At least you could remove the door leaves and take them to a painter. That would probably not be very expensive and the result very good. Of course, the frames are missing – is it maybe possible to remove those as well?

I can hardly imagine that refurbishing interior doors is cheaper than buying new ones. The labor costs are too high for that (in my opinion craftsmen are not generally too expensive, only in relation to buying new for door leaf + frame). Door + frame including installation can be had for about €350, or is that no longer the case? Unless there are special dimensions or particularly good/expensive doors...

It's different with windows depending on their condition. My brother had his wooden windows refurbished after about 15 years, I believe. I can inquire about the price. From the same painter, I had an offer for refurbishing my old oak front door with glass insert, but it never came to that because he had no time and I have now sold the house. I think it was around €800, but it would also have been almost a two-day job including materials.
