Hello Stefan,

Right - I should have been more precise: it can be painted over easily and quickly

Until a few years ago, Bauhaus style was almost dead - today almost everyone wants to build a cube. Why and where tastes change, for whatever reason, unfortunately cannot be predicted. If I could, I’d probably be filthy rich

But that doesn’t mean every trend is the ultimate measure of all things, or that every taste in interior design should submit to the judgment of a third party! Sometimes it’s quite good to lean back, swim against the current, and smile quietly when those very third parties talk about their experiences - following the trend

Rhenish greetings

Thank you for your answer – we prefer the woodchip style, which may be enhanced by color accents. Generally, we can’t do much with textured wallpapers. At first, I thought this would become a discussion topic with my wife, as her parents mainly use textured wallpaper. When I gently brought it up, it turned out she feels similarly.

We have not yet made a final decision regarding plaster. Most of the rough plaster is already out. The choice will probably be between fine felt plaster (1 mm) and disc plaster (2 mm). The decision will be finalized next week.

Exactly right, that's why I said, "Doing favors makes you beautiful."

I see the advantage of woodchip wallpaper in that it hides irregularities in the plaster well. Otherwise, I can't understand why anyone would put that in a new building, but luckily tastes vary. We sanded down and painted directly, looks crazy I think. We already have cracks, sure, but we'll just put a bit of painter's acrylic into the crack and roll another coat of paint over it, done.

But otherwise, [Malervlies] and [Raufasertapete] have the same functions, right?! I mean, specifically to conceal settlement cracks? Only, [Malervlies] requires a very even base, while [Raufasertapete] is not bothered by unevenness in the plaster? Did I understand that correctly?

I wouldn't call it "Do Not Disturb" Raufaser masks imperfections better than smooth fleece due to its surface texture.
