I would choose a combi-steamer, that is an oven with the option to use it as a steam cooker, and an oven with microwave function. If you even need a microwave at all. Since we have a combi-steamer, we no longer need a microwave. We rather regretted that our second appliance is a regular oven and not another combi-steamer.

Why are you actually buying a steam cooker? Just put a filled bowl of water in the oven.

Because a steam cooker or multi-steam cooker is more than just a cup of water. The dishes can be moistened more precisely. I can also use it to cook sous vide. I use almost exclusively the multi-steam cooker and hardly the oven.

We have an oven with an integrated microwave and a steam oven. We often use the steam oven for casseroles and baking bread. I would not buy a pure steam cooker; you can also steam vegetables on the stove, so a steam cooker is not worth it for that.

Kind regards

We have also ordered two combination appliances. One oven/steam oven combo and one oven/microwave combo. I definitely wanted two appliances. There are many occasions when I miss having a second appliance.

We have combined a steam oven and an oven, microwave separate. If I could choose again now, I would take a regular oven in addition to the oven/steam oven, two stacked – that wouldn’t have made much difference anyway. I see no advantages to a pure steam oven.
