What is supposed to be difficult about handling straps? I find that it goes faster than with crank handles and, of course, much faster than electric ones. I also deliberately wanted to have straps. I have actually never seen any problems with them anywhere. With some crank handles, you always have to use quite a lot of force to get them to turn...

We also have straps... after we finally decided to get shutters at all...

If I had known that "you then have such a big thing hanging around" (no offense intended ), we would have electric ones now

The straps are supposed to go into the wall as well... These surface-mounted solutions are really terrible.

Got a different question.. Is a wood stove sensible in a timber frame construction? I will probably still get an offer from Scanhaus Marlow Marlow. He said on the phone that you shouldn’t install one there because it probably gets too hot in the house!?

A wood-burning stove is not necessary in a new building. Whether stone, wood, or timber frame. I find the heat pleasant. If you have to buy wood, I would not take one. Otherwise, not either.

Roller shutters with a strap I find better than a crank. Electric is a different matter and clearly better, but not a must if the budget is low and tight.
