Just keep in mind that trees, unlike the neighboring buildings, also grow. What is still in the sun until 4 p.m. now does not necessarily have to be the case in 10 years.

I don't want to be a spoilsport now and I also find the forest beautiful. But being alone in the evening would make me feel a bit uneasy. You might also want to consider the SUBJECTIVE feeling of safety.

The crux of the matter: as soon as you think more consciously about something like this, in my opinion it increases the likelihood that you will become afraid.

Hello Maria, it is not a deep forest, but a small ribbon-like wooded area, behind which a playground will soon be built (the open green space at the top left of the following picture). And all around is an existing residential area. So it's not that dramatic :-) In that respect, we are rather less worried.

Are there regulations regarding forest distance at your place?

If you mean the development: I assume the permitted building area (red area in the excerpt of the original posting) extends over only about half of the property due to the forest. For the buildings not bordering the forest, construction is possible on almost the entire property. However, according to the development plan, the erection of outbuildings is also allowed outside the building area. And the approved area is completely sufficient for us.

Or was the question going in a different direction?

hm, we also have a footpath behind our property and do not have to clear it of snow. It is not a main traffic route, although an official [Schulweg]. A milling machine comes through. Nothing is disturbed through our hedge, and yes: the other houses have more distance to us this way. Very positive.
