Where is the question?

The question is whether the kitchen should get the same floor or if a different floor covering should be laid there. See sketches. And because the kitchen peninsula would then stand on the joint line of the two floor coverings. As already mentioned, I am interested in opinions on this. Or maybe someone also has suitable pictures. Either continuous flooring and two different coverings

Yes, I have looked into it by now. The kitchen area there is still more open, while mine is a bit more separated because the kitchen "turns the corner." But a continuous flooring is probably a good solution. I have to take that into account when planning the floorings. Thanks

We have decided on a uniform flooring. Reason: over time, small gaps often form between the transitions (depending on the chosen material). Dirt then accumulates there. Personally, it drives me crazy, even if it’s just a little. Also, it always looks cut off to me. Especially in your case, I somehow imagine it would look awkward if tiles or differently colored wood suddenly start right from the island. The kitchen is open and part of the living area, so it could be given the same look. We are putting slightly grayish laminate everywhere. The kitchen front is eggshell-colored. The decorative pillows on the couch are the same. Then a few splashes of color and voilà.
