We are about to fulfill our dream of owning a single-family home. The plot of land has already been purchased, and the construction company has also been selected. Shortly before we wanted to sign, the question arose as to which type of brick we need to use to achieve optimal sound insulation as well as optimal thermal insulation values.
I have been reading this and that for weeks, but so far have not come to a productive solution.
I am wavering between 24cm Poroton + 16cm insulation and 36.5cm Poroton without insulation. I have read that few builders have decided on 24cm Kalksandstein + 16cm insulation and have not regretted it to this day. However, Kalksandstein would unfortunately exceed our budget.
Perhaps someone can recommend a good alternative?
Just for your information, the house has 1.5 stories and will have triple glazing with sound insulation, as well as an air heat pump with solar storage and underfloor heating on 116m² of living space. Our considerations regarding sound insulation are based on the fact that our plot is located not very far from the airport and highway (it is still quieter than in our city, but you never know how aircraft noise might increase in the future).
I would be very happy about some suggestions.
Kind regards
