Dear forum members,
I am planning to build a single-family house and would also like to have a fireplace installed (masonry).
The fireplace is to be placed between the living and dining areas. The location of the chimney is already fixed. The fireplace should be next to the chimney and, depending on whether it is single-sided or double-sided, it would protrude more into the room (see pictures).
I basically have nothing against a single-sided fireplace, I just don’t know if I would be able to see well into the glass from the sofa at an angle. Hence the consideration of the L-shaped fireplace, which allows for a very good angled view. This would of course then almost function as a "room divider," as it will probably protrude about 80 cm into the room.
What do you think about these ideas or what do you think would look better?
Thank you!
