Well, a P4A glazing currently costs online from 100-150€ per square meter upwards. With an average of 20-25% window area (of the living area) in a new build of 140 sqm, that's easily a minimum surcharge of 3,000€. In return, others do the entire garden as DIY.

Hmm, then it is probably due to the timing (2021), or possibly the relationships of my Schwieva. I paid about 388 EUR / sqm for the entire window, if between 25-40% only for RC2 vs RC2N had been added, he would probably have told me.

The price premium has always been that high. RC2 does not simply mean that laminated safety glass is installed (which is significantly cheaper). For proper RC2, at least a P4A glazing is required. And that has always been really expensive. By the way, you can't tell that either, since this glazing is not stamped.

I corrected my post. It was probably too late last night and too early this morning ;)

hehe, no problem. But your remark about P4A is of course correct. Maybe that’s where the problem lies for me. The offer always states RC2 "only fittings". Still, I have laminated safety glass with foil, but maybe not P4A, and that’s why, strictly speaking, I don’t have RC2 but rather RC2N Plus or something like that. It wasn’t primarily important to me back then because of burglary protection, but because of shard and sound protection. And my father-in-law probably implemented it that way.
