... with this background, I will now also go into the conversation with the bank...

Me again briefly on this topic:

Could it be that the bank is twisting something from the wording "loan extension (condition adjustment)"?
The broker from Dr. Klein wanted to take a look at the contract now and inquire at MHB about how things look...
She just said that such a thing also exists...
Could it be that my extension contract was not a proper forward and therefore cannot be terminated now? ops:

We have the bank appointment in a week, until then I remain quite uneasy...

Don't let yourself be driven crazy!!

I had a clause "free special repayment after X years from full disbursement of the loan." My bank at the time said when I wanted to refinance with another bank that it has to be a special repayment and not a repayment. When I argued that the money comes from grandpa, grandma, aunt, or another bank, they didn't care!

After 2 weeks they relented.

Always stay firm!

I'm really nervous that some argument might still come up saying we'll only get out of this in 4 years... If you just do a rough calculation.... with the amounts we could ideally save there, it makes you dizzy... Not to mention the duration, which would be massively shortened....

You are of course really squeezed with the high interest rates, no question. But it doesn't help to drive yourself crazy... I just had some fun and used the mortgage calculator. I closed 10 months ago and would get half the interest rate today!! The remaining debt would be €50k lower without further measures (that's 25%!) than "as originally closed" with a constant rate... For that, I have the house now, moved in three weeks ago... and I can smile and ignore the price increases of the next 10 months. Of course, definitely write the termination. Argue firmly. And then be happy if it works. Until then, stay as calm as possible and internally assume that things will remain as they are.

wait and see first. if the bank writes something cheeky, inform us. there are rulings etc. if necessary, a lawyer, well-invested money would also always cancel at your appointment and wait. So don't trust phone statements either ALWAYS IN WRITING
