Not all electrical cables are laid in empty conduits! What to do?

Hello everyone,

our construction is actually progressing quite well. However, I just read the point in the construction description: "All cables will be laid under plaster in conduit (not in the utility room, as it is surface-mounted)".

Since everything is monitored via the BT, but I take photos daily, I just checked again and it is clearly visible in the pictures that conduit was only used on the floor.

The electrical, satellite, and network cables were all only laid up to a certain height in the walls and then plastered over.

Now the plaster and screed are already in place, and I am wondering if they are supposed to tear everything open and redo it? I don’t want to have to break everything open later even for a single cable fault!

What can or should I do now?

Regards, Frank

How is cable damage supposed to occur? In my opinion/experience, it is totally standard for cables to simply be embedded in plaster.

No, according to DIN 18015-1, data cables must be laid exchangeably in the installation conduit.

Oh, I understood it as being about power cables... What is the reason for the rule? Still, cable damage doesn't occur that quickly, does it?

This is how it will look in 98% of all solidly built houses. Plaster over it and that’s it. Don’t worry.
