No, part of the moisture is recovered from the exhaust air. The heat exchanger consists of a membrane that allows water molecules to pass through. If there is a moisture gradient between the exhaust air and fresh air, it will be balanced (to a certain extent) via the membrane.I only read that the moisture recovery cannot be dosed, meaning the system always releases the same amount. And then it could lead to too high humidity?
I don’t know if that is generally true. The difference is only in the heat exchanger (I think nowadays the enthalpy heat exchanger is practically standard). A controlled residential ventilation system costs 10,000 to 15,000 euros for a house, whether with or without moisture recovery. The actual price then depends on several aspects. If you choose a system type with moisture recovery from the start, the additional cost might maybe be zero :P?The additional cost is about 1000 euros.
