The world is simply diverse. Surely one will find someone who does it, if it is sufficiently worthwhile for that person.
That's exactly what the clever builder clients are usually about: getting stuck on it, envying the contractor's profit margin. Because through day trading bathtubs on the spot market there's not much to leverage that would significantly affect the scorecard in the final sum. Many smart guys simply got a TV cheaply through a schoolmate working at an electronics store, grabbed a set of rims cheaply on Ebay, and now believe they are the price king and thus get the extra 10 sqm they build effectively at no extra cost. The majority of them are happy for the simple reason that they never realize their mistake (and have buddies who report similar clever-success stories). But of course I'm just nagging because I'm pissed off that they always get the blonder Mandys than I do.Surely someone will be found to do it, if it is sufficiently worthwhile for that person.
Everyone lives in their own world (where their truth applies and works), and everyone is happy. That's why the evergreen FAQ of this forum thread will certainly be asked again next year and in all the years to come. Here's to that, with a Dujardin. The world is simply diverse.
Dear , since at least we both know since the meeting of Evelyn Hamann with the Mertens couple that there are many shades of gray between white and black, I at least claim for myself or hold the opinion that it is quite permissible and by no means inappropriate for a customer to also have a conversation about price/performance with a supplier. Either side may exit at any time; I don’t see any monopoly on the seller where the customer must silently accept his terms each time. Our former installer was paid quickly and always in full by us over 20 years; when he himself sat in our office, his second question was immediately about a discount, just as it was with our dentist, who once haggled with us over 20 DM after having previously expensive repaired the big family’s dentures. The nasty stinginess you probably mean, squeezing every lemon dry, I also don’t like on either side, but this is somewhat human and thus equally distributed among customers and service providers. Our general contractor knew that we put a lot of effort into some fixture details, which he rather just scoffed at. He simply wanted nothing to do with that; the material just had to be on site on time and present no special difficulties in installation. And so it happened. Building a house and confining myself to the design within a GC-given limited framework would not occur to me. If that has been cleared up beforehand, the GC can adjust himself and his calculation accordingly if he likes; if not, I have to keep looking. By the way, I never met a blonde Mandy either. Well, at least once in my life somewhere else the most awesome price. That’s exactly what the smart builder types usually care about: getting hung up on it, envying the contractor’s profit margin. Because with day trading bathtubs on the spot market there’s not much leverage to be had that would significantly affect the scorecard in the final tally. Many smart alecks just got a TV cheaply through a schoolmate at the electronics store, scored a set of rims cheaply on Ebay, and now believe they’re price kings and can effectively get the extra 10 sqm they build without extra cost that way. Most of them are happy for that reason alone, because they never realize their mistake (and have buddies who report similar clever-success stories). But of course I’m just whining because I’m pissed off that they always get the blonder Mandys than me.
