Certainly not: you have just built up the fireplace straight, not the chimney. The - by the way, very strangely dimensioned - chimney would stand completely blocking in front of the dressing room door. It seems to me that the other discussants understand your house better than you do yourself.

The chimney is not allowed to go straight up from the "fireplace"? The wall behind it is supposed to be used as wood storage and thus keep it further into the room. Besides, there are, to my knowledge, smaller angles that can be incorporated into the chimney.

But the whole construction certainly does not depend on the chimney; if the general contractor/architect says it's impossible, then that's just how it is.

Mmh, there are definitely solutions, but it looks stupid.

That is probably more due to the artistic skills of the OP, if the supposed chimney is supposed to be just a wood storage. At least that somewhat explains the unusual cross-section. You seem to imagine the chimney as a kind of extractor hood for smoke. Cute. How do you actually imagine the supply air?

"The fireplace draws combustion air through a channel in the floor."

These are just plans of how we imagine the whole thing. We just wanted to simply express our wishes. The architect/main contractor and also the chimney sweep will then have to say if and how it is possible.

Plans...

Plans are meant to be changed among many possible options.

P.S. This also applies to the stairs
