New gutter is dripping, normal or a defect?

Hello,

about 10 days ago the gutter was installed on our single-family house. Yesterday I was on the scaffolding and I noticed that the gutter is leaking and dripping where the individual parts have been plugged together. I am concerned because at one spot under the gutter there is the conservatory and it is no fun to hear the dripping on the conservatory roof (which we have now in our rental house). Does this constitute a defect, or is it normal?

Don't always talk about defects right away - the house isn't even finished yet! That's what you say at the next meeting, and then it gets sealed, fixed, or whatever it takes so that it's watertight.

That must not drip under any circumstances clearly a defect

Exactly. That is a tiny bit of soldering done by the roofer afterwards. However, it really must not drip at that spot. Is there water standing in the gutter? Sometimes the gutter cannot be fully soldered to the edge at the transition, for example because roof tiles are in the way. If then water stands in the gutter because, for example, the downspout is blocked (by leaves, gravel from construction, or something), the water reaches the top edge of the solder joint and then it drips. That’s how it was with us. Once the downspout was cleared, everything was fine. Best regards

So the gutter must not drip, then I will talk to the roofer about it.
Thanks to everyone for the quick answers.
P.S. The gutter is brand new, the downspout is clear.
