Man, don’t shit yourself, it’s just rainwater... Even if in five years a drop manages to slip through... so what. Wherever it falls, that’s also where the rain from above falls...

1. If it’s just rainwater, then why have a gutter at all.
2. You don’t even know the situation and the circumstances why I’m asking. The roofer didn’t work properly in many places and was therefore replaced. The new roofer listed all the points that were not professionally done, including the gutter. The other defects are obvious, but with the gutter I wasn’t sure if it might be unusual for the region, but generally allowed. Of course, I can leave the gutter as it is, but I would like to have a complete list of the defects and the risks. Then I can decide whether I want to take the risk or not.

But hey, don’t shit yourself... it’s just rainwater... so what... Does everyone really have to have an opinion these days, even if they don’t know the circumstances.

Thank you for your helpful and constructive contributions. It helped us a lot

Since you don't describe the circumstances either, you have to live with such a response in a forum (which, by the way, I would have given too – the "defect" is really trivial by itself). P.S. If you already have a new roofer who has noted this defect, the question itself wouldn't have been necessary. Better to name one more defect than too few.

I have learned: Only losers use silicone on the gutter.

1. I was talking about a drip or two that might sometimes sneak through; if you want a summer thunderstorm shower to splash from the roof onto your lawn without a gutter, go ahead. But I didn’t write that.
2. This is a forum, everyone has the opportunity to answer professionally, or not. If you don’t like that, you’re either in the wrong place or just unlucky. For the situation your wannabe roofer got you into, I can do very little...

It is not silicone, but polyurethane sealant. Your car windows are glued with that. Rivet-free.
