Hello, I don’t quite see the situation the same way as Schwarzmeier. Where the paint has cracked, it was definitely applied too thickly. Since painters always prefer to do everything "ONCE NICE," meaning applying a thick coat once and getting paid twice so that it covers well, things like this sometimes happen. I don’t want to exclude myself from that. But as you can see in the pictures, the cracks only appear in the indentations. That is also a sign that the paint was not distributed properly (smearing paint on, rolling the roller once up and down is just not enough). Every painter learns in their training to APPLY, DISTRIBUTE, and SMOOTH paint. Whether it is qualitatively okay, I don’t want to judge; in any case, I would not accept the facade like that nor pay for it. The facade paint is not only there to make the house look pretty but also to protect the building from moisture and dampness. In other words, rainwater should run off. What happens, for example, in winter: it rains during the day, the water remains trapped in the pores, at night it freezes, the water expands, and the paint can chip off. Since the painting company of course will not admit having any fault, I would first contact the paint company. They have field staff who look at such things and can make a statement as to whether it is the paint’s fault, which I don’t believe it is. I hope I have helped you for now. I would be glad if you keep us updated.
Best regards, Thommi
