Hello, We completed our new build 2 years ago. The terrace is laid out, the garden shed is in place. The WPC fence to the neighbor as well. Lawn fully sown. All done by ourselves. Since we are unfortunately not very creative, that's it. But we would like to have some flower beds, trees, a seating area, possibly space for a whirlpool, fire bowl. The garden is about 13m deep and 20m wide. We just have no idea how to design it. The landscape gardeners are not very interested since much is already done. We would also like to carry out the implementation ourselves. Are there any hobby planners here who can help us?

If you want help from the forum, you should at least post photos and a layout plan showing the current state

Post a picture here so that one gets a feeling of what it looks like, which lighting conditions there are. It would also be interesting to know how much effort you want to put into the daily/annual maintenance of your garden.

Bring on the information. Soil, orientation, wishes e.g. Cottage garden, natural, Asian, etc. Fruit tree, snack bed, etc. There are nurseries and garden centers that provide advice - unfortunately not all, and with some you are better off on the internet. Go to the nearest library for example Mein Schöner Garten has ready-made gardens, of course they don't fit 1 to 1 but for "rooms" and inspiration it is enough. Gräfin von Zeppeling the perennial nursery has bed ideas and the right plants in good quality. A garden has to grow, especially if you want to do it yourself.

Ah yes, and if you see someone in the garden on Saturdays, the one with the great magnolia or the beautiful rose, just ask. What you like and has grown well there for years will almost certainly grow well two streets away.

There are also online garden planners from various providers. Maybe something like that will already help you - e.g. OBI or Gardena (iscape also worked quite well for that - but it is completely in English).
