yes with controlled residential ventilation.

Maybe in the long term, but only maybe. I would also like photovoltaics, but I first have to invest 10-12k and, depending on forecasts, it takes 8-12 years to break even. In the specific case here with ST, I start with zero investment. (well, a time delay until the subsidy is paid out)
And I don’t have to bother with any taxes/invoicing etc.

I openly admit, I have never dealt intensively with ST after reading everywhere that it is useless. However, I cannot explain to you why. As I said, I am being completely honest.

we rely on controlled residential ventilation, brine heat pump, underfloor heating, and photovoltaics and try to reduce our biggest cost driver, electricity, as much as possible.

Me neither, my conclusion was early payback never happens or takes way too long... only if you practically get it for nothing?

I totally understand! I would have had that too, but the combination of water protection zone, small plot and a few other conditions would have made brine too expensive. If I were to start now given the funding conditions, it would be no question for me.

Does that mean you are not allowed to make any drillings? Because they are also subsidized. And if you are in NRW, there is also progresNRW. They also fund drillings and controlled residential ventilation.

No drilling is forbidden! [Wasserschutzzone]. Groundwater must not be penetrated. Surface collector might possibly be approved but would require additional measures, meaning it has to be sealed underneath the collector, etc. That would have cost a lot extra. And since a few organizational hurdles were added, it was discarded again. And I am in [BW].

...mmh now it's getting crazier and crazier, I think our planned air-to-water heat pump will even manage the 4.5 since the standard outdoor temperatures were recently corrected as well. Now we have -12 instead of -14. I think I urgently need to talk to our heating engineer...
