Hello,

I am currently facing the challenge of mounting my Access Point on the ceiling. Unfortunately, I did not consider an [UP-Dose] here. And the cable cannot be (or I also do not want to) squeezed into the small space of the Access Point. Does anyone have a good solution suggestion? Installing an [UP-Dose] afterwards by core drilling (if that is even possible)? Thanks in advance for your help!

I think if you have attached the mounting ring and can pull the cable slightly back into the conduit, that will work. Otherwise, you need to create distance using a spacer ring.

Unfortunately, the empty conduit only allows about 1.5 cm of play - that is too dangerous for me. What do you mean by [Distanzring]?

I have exactly the same problem right now :D Unifi access point, forgot the box in the concrete ceiling...

I will install a surface-mounted box, attach a keystone jack, and then connect it with a thin, flexible patch cable.

Since you already put in a plug, you can probably work with the surface-mounted box. The base plate of the access point has suitable holes to screw it in there.

By spacer ring is meant a distance holder between the ceiling and the worktop. In the resulting hollow space you can accommodate your cable. You just have to make it yourself.

Distance rings could be made in no time with a small 3D printer ;-) You don't need much height (about 1.5 -2cm so that the Keystone module + short patch cable fit). I saw someone here who posted pictures of distance rings made from laminated material (wood?). A jigsaw + sanding pad and/or router/edge router should be available then. Remember to turn off the default blue light with the controller afterwards. MEA gets annoying over time (unless you want a blue emergency light)

Maybe they are available for download on Thingiverse or even for purchase as finished printed parts on the usual classifieds portals?
