Money in home financing

Our house construction is slowly coming to an end, and it appears that 5-10k€ will be left over because we estimated very generously.

What does the situation with the bank look like now? Are the chances good that I will be allowed to use the money for residential purposes? (e.g., for the kitchen/garden)

Or does the money remain directly with the bank?

Unfortunately, I had the opposite situation. Well - never mind, everything was resolved.

Depending on the bank, the last 5K euros are often only paid out one year after withdrawal.

With the highest probability, you can now dispose of your 5-10K that remains, whereby the use in the area of the house (kitchen/garden) is particularly suitable for this.

There would also certainly be the possibility to draw the money and immediately use it for a special repayment.

Yes. Of course I will also ask the bank. However, nowadays you can't reach anyone there, and this question is occupying my mind right now ;-)

At our bank (Postbank), we would have money left over (which was actually planned) that could have been called up for the purposes you mentioned. Without any problem.

If the bank does not want to see invoices, I wouldn't even ask.
