Hey everyone,
we bought a new single-family house from 2019/2020.
The house is equipped with a Danfoss underfloor heating system and also ventilation (Danfoss Airunit W2).
The underfloor heating is quite large since we have quite a few rooms (with Danfoss Wireless Icon thermostats). Hence the two main controllers.
Unfortunately, after our third month, I can no longer connect to the stupid Danfoss Display/WLAN unit. Allegedly the password is wrong, but it is 100% NOT wrong.
Now I have read that this Link CC series from Danfoss has been discontinued and that you are supposed to buy the Danfoss Ally gateways now (which I have done). Now the Danfoss Ally app tells me that I first need to buy a Zigbee gateway and then connect it to the main controllers.
Ok, to my questions:
1.) Can it really be that these main controllers do not already have Zigbee? How does my underfloor heating communicate with the individual wireless thermostats in each room then? I found a “Repeater Unit” next to the Danfoss system. What does it repeat then? A proprietary radio signal that is not Zigbee?!
2.) I have two controllers for the rooms. Do I then have to buy TWO Zigbee gateways?
3.) What role does the Airunit play? Does it somehow communicate with the underfloor heating? Connected to the unit is this small device with the large round circle. WHAT IS THAT?
4.) Can the newer Ally gateways actually be integrated into smart homes somehow? Alexa and Google apparently support it, but I would rather have Homekit, Homebridge, etc.
5.) What is this device in the photo with the missing rotary switch??
Sorry, my questions are probably stupid and the text way too long :( I am really happy for HELP :)
