Mites are in your bedding and mattress!
Carpets bind dust!
Carpets are excellent; whether they are suitable for underfloor heating, most of them are.

I am a fan of rugs made from natural materials for the sleeping area, such as new wool/goat hair. I chose Tretford fabric, 20% new wool and 80% goat hair. Pleasant on the feet, available in many shades, so I chose the rug in roughly tile color, so that the floor area looks somewhat continuous when the door is open.

Good morning,

You probably mean house dust mites?

**"According to studies by the Asthma Association DAAB e.V., carpet flooring is actually better suited for allergy sufferers than a smooth floor. The reason is that the carpet binds fine dust and it is not stirred up into the room, thus relieving the indoor air. Especially with an allergy to house dust mites, a carpet binds the mite feces in its fabric and is then removed when the carpet is vacuumed next."

Unfortunately, our children are both allergic to house dust and have had good experiences with carpets in bedrooms for years.

Also take a look at the website of the daab (Deutscher Allergie- + Astmabund e.V.).

I am also totally pro carpet in rooms like bedrooms and children's rooms, I loved being able to sit on the floor as a child without getting a cold bottom (and that without underfloor heating), today as an adult the dust bunnies that scamper around as conspicuously as tumbleweeds in western films when a little air is stirred up annoy me a lot. I miss the carpet flooring

thank you thank you thank you!

But we laminate lovers unfortunately never want to hear those who present smooth floors as the be-all and end-all.

Hey,

my husband’s aunt is severely allergic to dust and had the carpet replaced with laminate specifically because she thought she would cope better that way.
Well, shortly afterward she was already annoyed because now the dust flies around much more than before with the carpet and she has even more problems with her allergy.

By the way, in the new house we also have carpet in the bedrooms + dressing room in combination with underfloor heating (however, no high pile, but short loops) and are wonderfully satisfied with it.
Simply vacuum over it quickly, instead of having dust accumulations everywhere flying around. Even my husband, who was previously rather skeptical as an allergy sufferer and a fan of smooth floors, likes it wonderfully!
